Space Tourism Sooner Than You Think

Space tourism is a term used to describe public citizens that wish to purchase tickets to travel to space and back. Although people may find the idea futuristic, the reality of people traveling to space simply for pleasure is becoming more plausible and will become an ever-growing business.

The first flights are likely to be sub-orbital flights as these are shorter and easier to get to than higher orbits. The technical knowledge to create passenger launch vehicles and orbiting hotel accommodation is available and there is now a huge demand. Market research has indicated that most people would like to take a trip to space if it were possible. This is especially true in industrialized countries. The biggest obstacle to space tourism is the conservatism that surrounds it. Governments today fund most space activities and can be very territorial.

Last Minute Airline Upgrades On Longer Flights

Flying is a necessary evil if you want to get from one place to another. The level of evil you must submit to, however, is directly proportional to the class of seating you have. First class seating on a long flight is simply heaven on earth.

First class. Ah…. People feeding you grapes and fanning you with big palm leaves. Okay, maybe not. Still first class is where you find seats made for the human body and stewardesses that don’t act like French waiters. On a long flight, first class is where you want to be.

Timeshare Or Luxury Travel Membership - Which Is The Better Investment?

Timeshares are costly and very limiting. There are large up front costs and ongoing fees, which can be as much as $400 or $500 a month. Generally, timeshares can be used only once a year, some only every two years, and you can’t always get them when you want them. Most people don’t want to travel to the same place year after year. Because there are so many interesting and exciting destinations around the world, it makes absolutely no sense to invest your money in one destination. You can exchange your timeshare for another location, but this can be extremely difficult. Fortunately there is an exciting alternative that will save you thousands of dollars in the long term.

Arriving In Cyprus

With the increasing popularity of the island of Cyprus as a holiday resort, many more visitors are now finding out about the delights on offer here. Larnaca Airport is the point of entry for most tourists visiting this Mediterranean paradise.

The three largest resorts on the south side of the island are centred around Paphos, Larnaca and Ayia Napa. Paphos, on the western end of Cyprus, has its own dedicated airport. Visitors to the other two resorts, however, will often tend to arrive at Larnaca International Airport.

Tips For Late Summer Travel

We are into the latter part of summer, but that doesn’t mean many of us are not still traveling on vacations. Here are a few last minute tips to help you out.

First and foremost, figure out if you will need a passport for your trip. Recent regulation changes have been implemented that require you to have a passport to reenter the US from practically any country. This includes Mexico and Canada. The new regulation has led to a massive backlog, so make sure you have a current passport. If you need a new one, find out how long it will take and any exceptions that might apply to your destination.

How Hot Air Balloons Work

For practical purposes, hot air balloons really can’t compete with airplanes and helicopters. They’re extremely difficult to steer, and they can only move as quickly as the surrounding winds. But as a recreational activity, hot air ballooning can’t be beat. You’re outside, feeling the wind in your hair and the sun on your face, drifting serenely over the earth. If you’ve ever been in a hot air balloon, you know it’s an experience you won’t soon forget.

Travel - A Continental Christmas

What smells do you associate with Christmas? Pine trees, minces pies, mulled wine, bratwurst?

Every year, thousands of us flock to Christmas markets - known as Christkindlmarkt - in the UK and in Europe. With a wide variety of exotic food, drink and hand-made gifts available, these markets help to add a continental feel to Christmas. It’s Christmas market season, but not just in Germany, for continental markets have been a growing industry in the UK over the last century.

These markets offer a change from the hustle-and-bustle of the busy high street, giving shoppers the opportunity to break away from the busy shopping and sample some warming food and drink from our European neighbours.

Travel - Travel Tips For Christmas

It’s that time of year again, and for those wanting to head home and spend time with family and friends during the holiday season, air travel can be a long and stressful process

So how can you help ease these stresses and frustrations of air travel during the holiday season?

Here are a few helpful tips to help you get through those potentially stressful holiday flights.

Southampton Airport - A Cheap Alternative To Heathrow

Heathrow Airport, Europe’s busiest international airport, is the most used gateway into the UK for many overseas visitors. Most are probably unaware that regional airports often offer lower cost flights.

It’s hardly surprising that most people looking to fly into London and the south east of England assume that they are best flying into one of the major London airports, such as Heathrow or Gatwick.

Certainly Heathrow appears to have plenty to offer - namely a large selection of flights to choose from and proximity to central London (about 45 minutes to central London on the Underground last time I travelled the route).

Travel - Facebook Flyers

A new application allowing users to track the status of their friend’s flights has been released on popular social networking website Facebook. The application uses a tracking system developed by an airline and travel information service, users can now share flight status and location with their friends via their profile pages.

Users now have access to a range of information regarding their flight - including airport and weather reports, departure and arrival times and even real-time flight tracking - sent directly to their pages in order to keep track of details leading up to their holidays.
